Depression and anxiety. I recently stopped taking medication for because my new doctor said I should try to go without it, not sure how long that will last. OCD but it isn't too bad.

My whole family suffers from varying degrees of depression/anxiety/OCD.

Do take good care of yourself, and let the doc know if you feel like you do need the meds. Sorry, I know I'm not your mom, but I like you and want you to be well!

Well.. The whole thing is a bit of a mess. I ran out of refills and was only taking half doses. So I called the office I go to but found out they are in another building for now. On top of the fact my doctor moved away, they said I needed to go in to get a refill.

So I go in and meet this new doctor. I tell him what I am in for and I was not really feeling him. He wasn't an asshole but eh. He tells me I should think about getting off my medication because taking them is not a lifetime commitment. So I told him I had been thinking about it. He said he could help me with that.

And then he never called my prescription in. So... I stopped taking it. I have been very anxious but not particularly depressed.

That is a bit of a mess. Maybe you'll just need one and not the other,eventually?

My life-long family doctor is retiring this year, and I'm also worried, because he's a good physician and I just hope I'll get on with whoever will replace him.

Feel free not to answer and I mean this in the most curious but not malicious sense, is this why you reply to all your comments? Or just a personal preference thing?

Sort of but not how you think! It has nothing to do with my OCD but more so my depression. I have had times in my life where sometimes one nice comment/reply on some forum from some stranger has greatly brightened my day.

So, I reply to all my comments just in case. For all I know, someone is having a really shitty day and my stupid replies will make them feel a little better. It doesn't take much time so why not?
