Replace "Haikyuu!!" fandom with the "Kuroko no Basuke" or "Free!" fandom and you'd be right on the money.

Going to echo the anon and say that finding good anime fiction of a popular series, is definitely a loosing battle.

However, with all three fandoms (even though I don't like "Free!" that much kinda has a love/hate relationship with the series and fandom), I don't mind smut.

I thought of Kuroko no Basuke too. (The number of times I've read the word 'bluenette' in KnB fic is shameful.)

(Anonymous) 2015-02-06 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
High five! Did KnB fandom coin that word? I know I encountered 'pinkette' in Naruto first.

Back in the day, fandoms like D.N.Angel already had blunettes. I hated it then, hate it now X'D

No one remembers anymore "whitenette" in YGO fics?

Basically, anime fandom's obsession with hair-based pronouns is legendary.

Haha, apparently not! I'm not surprised to hear that blunette isn't new, but I don't remember it from D.N. Angel fandom. (Which, wth self, you loved DNA.)

I was never super into Naruto (Though I did read some Kakashi/Iruka back in the day) so I didn't come across Pinkette. Not sad I missed it!

Apparently "noirette" is cropping up in Free! fic.

Still not sure if that's more or less obnoxious than calling black-haired character "the raven."

(Anonymous) 2015-02-06 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Nevermore! ;)

(Anonymous) 2015-02-06 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That's strange.
elaminator: (Haikyuu!!: Kageyama (angrily drinking mi)

[personal profile] elaminator 2015-02-07 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, they sound equally annoying. I think Kageyama got some of that too, but at least there's actual references to ravens in the manga/anime.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-06 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
And outside of sports anime, you could replace it with "Attack on Titan" too, because 99% of that fandom's fanworks are terrible AUs and 'edgy' SJW issues too.

I think it's just the trend among most of the age-group who are most prolific when it comes to writing fic for the flavor-of-the-moment shows.
