Well, Hercule Poirot is technically over a hundred years old by the end of the books, and in some of them the motif of him being old is pretty prominent. I guess it's more obvious in the TV series, though - I found e.g. 'Curtain's exploration of Poirot's attitude towards aging and dying damn heartbreaking.

'Remember Me', which I'm watching right now - a horror mini-series starring Michael Palin as an "eighty-odd" quirky Yorkshireman with a dark secret from the past. It's good, though I am already scared as hell.
