Maybe not, but you probably just need to work on your expectations and your idea of what creative people should be. Creating something great doesn't mean you're great yourself, or even that you should be. You're just a person who has an unusual profession but is as flawed as anyone else. This perception around Tumblr and elsewhere of writers as enlightened beings to be consulted like oracles on all the pressing issues of our time is especially bizarre to me. Writers are obsessive weirdos who fantasize about random shit all day and sometimes manage to express those fantasies in a way that appeals to others. I've been at it for decades and have made tens of dollars, so you can trust me on this. lol

Some writers on the internet have become our new oracles, haven't they? That's kind of hilarious given how reliable the old ones were.
