Kind of sad to read actually. You shouldn't have to feel ashamed of what you enjoy.
As a 21 year old who plays Love Live and other jp games religiously I'm sure I'll be playing it still at the ripe age of 50. Dreading these types of thoughts :(

And OP I don't remember what that game is called but I did download it on my phone and chose the character in your image but had to stop since iirc you had to buy something to continue? I'll be lounging back here with my illegal downloads instead thanks.

I'm 22 and I spend so much money on Voltage mobile otome games, and I want to bang the characters. Do you OP!

On the age: I am 25, and I am a sprite artist for an english otome (kinda) game that has yet to come out. And I have plans to write VNs myself, some with otome like elements and that would probably take me into my 30s. And Personally, as long as the story is good I don't really care about the genre, and I doubt I will when I am 30 odd. Especially seeing as
On the friend: That is sad to hear, if she takes them too seriously. Though I supposed sharing these things will always be hit and miss.

Text: I play a couple otome games from time to time, but I feel a little silly playing them since I’m nearly 30 so I don’t tell anyone that I play them. I refer to them as Japanes app games on my phone” when I vaguely talk about games I play on my phone. it gets lonely sometimes when I want to fangirl with someone about certain characters/plot points.

When a friend asked me if I played otome games last week, because she was thinking about playing them I was so excited. I enthusiastically said YES SHE SHOULD PLAY!

After a week, I do like squeezing with her and laughing about the romance novel levels of drama and scandal in the stories, but she takes some of the stories a little too seriously an d gets upset over them and she’s kind of sucking some fun out of it. I’m starting to wonder if I regret telling her that I play it. =(

B!S: I wish Kotaro was real. <3 I want my own RL Kotaro

I'm so confused.
Here I am, 47 years old, and I'm too old for *nothing*. Well, too old for miniskirts and scene hair, but still....

Don't be ashamed or hide what you like - what's the point? You're never 'too old' until you tell yourself you are. Just enjoy!

Ha ha! If I saw you in a miniskirt bb, I would just think, Tabaqui is rocking it. Whoooo!

But I know what you mean. I haven't worn a miniskirt in years. That era has passed.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAA.
*cough*

Yeah, there comes a time when you just need to let it go. I'm much happier in my leggings and comfy sweaters (sitting for six+ hours a day at the job means *comfortable clothes*, hope they're also stylish, heh).

*nods*

I tend to wear long dresses more than anything else and this winter has been abnormally cold which is bah. I'm ready for spring, so I can rock a maxi every day.

YES, jeez. I wear skirts, but legging underneath. Even when it's frigid outside, at some point, they *always* turn the damn air on (computers, lots of people) and the break room and bathrooms are like a friggin' meat locker.

So leggings, fuzzy socks, my comfy slouchy boots, camisole top, comfy sweater, sometimes a skirt, and a nice, soft, hoodie that i end up putting back on about half the time.

I love sun dresses and maxi dresses, but even in the hottest part of summer, i always end up in a hoodie 'cause they crank the air to 'polar ice' temps.

I always wear leggings under my dresses, too, even in the summer.

*high five*

Whoooooo!

Oh, i should point out - these are *fleece lined* leggings. OMG, so wonderful. I won't be wearing *them* in summer, but holy crap, they rock. I'm gonna have to get a couple more pair before they go away. (Six bucks at Glicks.)

Fleece? Wow. That's hardcore.

I've never even seen such a thing for sale down here. Of course in a normal winter for this area, I wouldn't even be contemplating wearing them. LOL

Heee!
Yeah, i imagine they'd be over the top most years, but man, they're comfy. Totally not bulky or weird.

Yes! I was best pleased. I figure i get three or four pair this winter and then i'm set for a good few years.

I'm 29 and work for the localization/translation section of an otome gaming company...and let me just say, we love fans like you who enjoy our work (especially if you're willing to actually PAY for it, because a lot of the younger fans aren't--and the majority of us work 12-15 hour days to get things out on time).

When I told the Japanese writers of the app I translate that they were chosen to go overseas, they were SO excited, they were beside themselves. They really love when they can see the characters they wrote go to the Land Beyond the Sea..even just to have that chance.

So, you know...don't be ashamed. Not only because it happens to pay my bills, but because you're supporting an industry that, very rare for Japan, is about 95% women in the tech sector who work very hard and believe in what they do. If for no other reason, THAT should be something to be proud of.
