You're right that's it's not particularly like a classic abusive relationship. There's no boxing him in, nor control psychology. But if we're going to be sensitive to any abuse of the weaker partner by the stronger partner, this looks like a case of that.
(I'm not a super-strict "no hitting, ever" person, and I think it's not meant to abusive in context, but I see their point.)

I do think that people who are bugged by the ONE TIME Pete hit MJ or the ONE TIME Hank knocked Jan down are right to try to be fair when it's a woman who's stronger.
But Clint is still standing. It's really not the same thing as those scenes. Jessica was measured and deliberate here.
