Enh, it kinda makes sense, especially since there's the question of, "how flawed of an effort am I willing to accept?"

It's like how a lot of queer lit back in the day always ended in death or becoming straight. That was literally the only queer stuff you could get respectably published. Nowadays, that's awful, and thankfully a little less common, but it brings up the question of how much gratitude we owe the old "dead queers" books. They were the foot in the door that helped eventually lead to books about happy living queers. You know what I mean?

It's not even necessarily 'dur hur, SJWs,' it's frustration about the imperfection that comes with being an underrepresented community.

Not really. It smacks of arrested adolescent thinking: everything is black and white. There are no shades of grey in this worldview.

See, sure, I guess some folks are like that, but I've seen a lot of intelligent people making these kinds of arguments. I personally may not AGREE with them, and find them tedious, but I think that just saying they're black-and-white-thinking dumbasses is... uh. Kinda black-and-white thinking.

Either it has to be perfect (by whatever the current subjective standard of perfection is) or it shouldn't exist. (Or if your talking about people and causes, if your understanding isn't perfect keep your mouth shut.)

Sounds black and white to me.

It's not the black and white so much as the 'arrested adolescence' bit I'm having trouble with.

This is a very ironic statement.
