I need to get a new DS so I can finish Pokémon Black. My old one seems to really hate the game, it's started randomly shutting down when I am playing it but every other game is fine.

Aw, shame. Do you have a 3DS? If you don't, you might as well get a 3DS + one of the 6th gen games, then you can transfer your Pokemon from Black to your 6th gen games too.

I second above and I'd consider getting a 3ds if you can instead of another DS. I absolutely LOVE the 3ds and it is my favorite gaming system right now and if you get one then you can possibly play the new games as well.

Also was your Pokemon black used when you bought it? Sometimes used copies aren't legit and cause problems, but if it was new when you bought it then IDK. You may need to get another copy because if it's only that specific game that shuts it down it may not be the DS but the game.

It is second hand... but this all started really late in the game and the previous owner's save seemed to be further along than mine?
