Really? X has been essentially holding my hand and trying to drag me for a run, so I assumed that the last gen was supposed to be the more challenging entries in the series to contrast that. I'll just buy whichever one is cheaper since those four regularly pop up in classifieds, and it doesn't like much incentive to have the sequel/previous if they're essentially the same.

Ooh, for some of the irritating ones with low appearance rates I've been tempted to "cheat" and just trade for them. But some of them hold items (with even lower rates)! Just when I think this game is too easy, it kicks me with bad luck >:U

I honestly don't have the best recollection, I do think it was probably harder then X but what I like in Pokemon games is a bit different, I liked X a lot just because it felt like there was a lot to do. I did like both black and white 2, I only think if you're going to play one you don't HAVE to play the other, especially if you are mainly looking to trade up.

ORAS has so many pokemon with really low appearance rates, once you've caught one they are super easy to find again because then they are in the radar, but getting them to show up in the first place was hard for me. I didn't have the patience and just traded most in, but I got sick of that same damn vileplume showing up all the time.

I like the faster pace tbh even though I've always been a slow player. I can spend all my time screwing around with the pss/amie, evolving everything, breeding, or whatever, but getting back to the main game is a cinch because of all the optional over leveling. Challenge is nice, but there's a lot I can handicap on my own end for that. BW will probably have the same effect on me :)

What's worse or sometimes magical for me is when the most rare ones pop up instead of the most common. I didn't know what the heck a hawlucha was for a while until I was just passing through the route; I had spent so much time previously trying to nab a female eevee in that one route.
