Hi! thank for replying, it's really interesting co-incidence. The fic is called Fade to Black: http://archiveofourown.org/works/831443 If you decide to check it out please be aware it has a lot of discussion of the traumas that contributed to the split(sorry again if I'm using inappropriate terminology) so be careful if that's an issue for you.
