I was just coming down to comment that I thought the musical was more explicitly feminist! Between Elle's sorority sisters being more diverse, the way they show all the hard work Elle puts in, and my favorite change, that Vivian actually supports Elle at the end instead of just jumping to slut shame her.

Also I think her relationship with Emmet is just better built up in the musical. (I still love the movie too though! Its just a great fun story.)

Vivian supported her in the movie, too, once she knew the truth.

ayrt, yeah, but she still jumps to assuming Elle is sleeping her way up, and in the musical she recognizes a sexually coercive interaction when she sees one. Either is realistic, I just like the musical version better. Also its her who comes to the beauty parlor to tell Elle not to give up, which is just a very nice moment for their relationship in the musical.

I don't remember exactly *what* she saw in the movie, but yeah, it's too bad she jumped to conclusions.

I liked that Elle was basically nice to her from day one, even though she was upset and betrayed. She never took it out on Vivian.

it's been a while since i've seen the movie, but if i remember correctly vivian walked back in to see callahan putting his hand on elle's leg and left before she saw elle push it away.
