Are there any CANON genderswaps that you like? For example, in a remake or retelling of a series.

If not, are there any that you really wish would be genderswapped in a remake?

Female!Han Solo, from the live read of A New Hope that someone put on in LA where they had Ellen Page playing Han, and also from the remake with the same casting that only exists in my mind

Just about to say this. Starbuck is amazing. I liked her even more when I read that the original Starbuck male actor was all butthurt about it and went on a misogynist rant about "Stardoe" and how feminism is destroying manhood or something.

Everyone in the Gintama genderswap arc. The anime is coming back in April so I can't wait to see it animated. I wonder what they will do about their voices?

Only one canon I like has canon genderswamp, but it's a short parody.

I like it, but (not gonna lie) I mostly fond of it because it made my OTP canon.

I really, really hate genderswap but I thought that Adventure Time thing was kinda cute? Probably because I don't watch AT a lot and am not at all invested in it, but still.

Have you read the Fionna and Cake comic? If the genswap eps were anything like that (story beyond Fionna don't need no man), I would dig a spinoff. Or more comics really.

Most of the genderswaps in Hannibal.

Freddie Lounds is just as despicable as her male counterpart.

And Alana Bloom is GORGEOUS, like, damn.

I am absolutely LOVING all the gifsets/art/fic where Bedelia is basically genderswapped Hannibal. It's amazing. Bonus points if there's femslash.

Bless this show for giving us so much fertile ground for fanfiction.

Are you implying that it would be unusual to like Judi Dench as M, or Joan on Elementary? Because I think most people do like those.

I think Judi Dench's M is probably my favorite genderswap ever. And I love Joan Watson, too.

While I found Moffat's writing for Missy icky and gender-essentialist, the fact that she exists means that there is no in-universe reason for there not to be a female Doctor.

I seem to have completely misunderstood this question. I thought you meant those godawful "trans" webcomics that were big about a decade ago, which were all about boys getting magically transformed into beautiful girls, OH NOES.

(As you might guess, I wasn't the biggest fan. Bitter trans guy is bitter.)
