What are yours?

Mine in following post

Captain America Miss Congeniality AU

(Anonymous) 2015-02-08 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Good lord was this SO MUCH FUN. I normally don't like AUs, but having Steve compete in the Captain America Pageant was freaking GOLD. It was so freaking adorable. Steve as Mr. New Jersey. Bucky as Mr. New York. Tony as Mr. California. Same Wilson as Mr. Virginia. Clint as Mr. Iowa. Natasha as Michael Caine's character. It was perfect.

I normally hate AUs or crossovers but this one had me grinning like a fool. I never knew I wanted it.

All Stucky

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2015-02-08 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Going to post like...full AUs so not just canon divergence. Just to cut down on the list size. I might make another list with other pairings after my walk.

The Amazing Adventures of Bucky Barnes Steven G. Rogers writes and illustrates the Amazing Adventures series, a set of super obscure children's books about superheroes. Bucky’s daughter thinks these books are the best thing to grace the earth since hot chocolate. Unfortunately, they're nearly impossible to find. But when Nat asks for a signed copy of the new book for her birthday, Bucky promises to do whatever he can to make it happen.

It all sort of escalates from there.

Fantasmic! It's Steve's second summer working at Disney World when he meets Prince Charming (aka: Bucky Barnes, college kid from Brooklyn whose ass looks absolutely devastating in his Prince Charming slacks) and maybe starts to feel a little Disney magic in his heart.

First, Do No Harm James Barnes should be just like any other patient Steve sees in his Brooklyn clinic, but the mob enforcer bleeding all over his waiting room chair apparently didn’t get the memo.

it's a date Bucky Barnes has been advised to get a puppy to help get him back into civilian life. Steve Rogers runs the local dog shelter that Bucky visits. Drama ensues.

Cake Walk Steve Rogers runs a small bakery in Brooklyn with his friend Peggy. When his neighbours Natasha and Sam announce that they are getting married, Steve is immediately commissioned to make the wedding cake. He’s more than thrilled, but gets more than he bargained for when asked to co-ordinate with Bucky Barnes - Natasha’s highly attractive and charming wedding planner.

Politics and Animals It all started on a quiet Brooklyn street. Sure, putting the Veterans Administration clinic next to a funeral parlor was probably the universe’s idea of a joke, but it had a coffee shop right across the street. And the old church next to the coffee shop had a new sign over the doors: Howling Commandos.

When Steve Rogers, the new Team Lead at the VA, first looked across the street and spotted the gorgeous guy with the cute dog, he never planned on becoming emotionally invested. It was just supposed to be a no-strings night of pleasure.

But Bucky Barnes turns out to be far more complicated than Steve ever expected, and at every turn, it seems like Bucky’s past, his family, and his stalker are all conspiring against them. Is it even worth the effort?

if only you could see me (for the pie that i am) In which Steve is the proud owner of Frost, a semi famous local bakery in DC and despite the overwhelming insistence that it’s about time he start dating, Steve swears up and down he isn’t ready for that. Or as of recently, just doesn’t have the time because of Mr. Barnes – the highly demanding wedding planner on the phone who keeps asking for nearly impossible deliveries and maybe Steve would like to personally strangle him. Maybe.

(There is pie. And misunderstandings. But a lot more desserts and eye rolls.)

The President's Son Agent Steve Rogers is assigned to protect President Barnes' son, Bucky - a troubled war veteran with a penchant for causing havoc. Bucky is a war hero but keeps veering to the path of self destruction, and Steve is sure as hell doesn't want to get fired over this shit. His job is to protect Bucky, even from himself.

Critical Feline Mass Adjusting to civilian life is hard for any military veteran — especially for one ex-sniper with a cybernetic arm, a classic Harley, and friends who keep trying to ‘help.’ When Sam Wilson at the VA sends Sergeant Barnes to rent a room from the hottest guy in the DC area, Bucky thinks maybe civilian life is worth it after all. And then he finds out Captain Rogers is everything Bucky’s not: a real hero, a Medal of Honor recipient, and an all-around nice guy. Bucky doesn’t have a chance in hell with him.

Sam was a huge help to Steve Rogers when he left the military. In the spirit of ‘pay it forward,’ Steve decides to rent out his basement room to a vet in need. But when Sergeant Barnes shows up on his doorstep, he knows he’s in for a world of trouble. Barnes is exactly what Steve never knew he wanted, from his bedroom eyes to his wicked innuendos. And he’s Steve’s tenant.

You Were Standing There Bucky accidentally breaks into the wrong house while drunk. The wrong house happens to belong to Steve Rogers.

this is not a drive by "God, he can’t stop smiling, and it must be infectious because a slow grin is stretching across Steve’s face, and now he’s the one looking at Bucky from up under his eyelashes and asking, “How have we not met before?”

And, really, that’s the question isn’t it."

Otherwise known as: The Bucky Barnes Hot Dad AU or The One Where Steve Crashes All Of Bucky's Dates Without Really Trying

Cards to Your Heart The one where Bucky is an Iraq war vet working at a coffee shop and Steve is the starving art student he falls in love with.

I did a Hetaoni/xxxHOLiC crossover back in the day that got a review a few days ago. The fic's a few years old, but I reread it and despite a heavy change in my writing style, I loved the idea all over again.

I think my favorite crossover right now is a WIP Arrow/Supernatural crossover over on AO3 about the pairing of Dean Winchester/Laurel Lance. I didn't think I would enjoy it because I stopped watching Arrow after the first season (I only gave it a chance because it deals with Demon Dean) but I am genuinely loving it. It even made me cry.

X-Men First Class AUs

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2015-02-08 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
XMFC
A Wonderfully Ruined Life series Charles is seventeen, still in highschool, still living with his not-so-nice family and still bored half to death with everything. Everything changes, however, when he accepts a job at a local café and meets the mysterious Mr Lehnsherr. Erik is tall, dark, incredibly handsome and, according to the other staff members, a corrupt bastard.

or, the one where Charles has a shitty family and falls for the guy everyone thinks is a creep.

Emissary Requiring Interplanetary Cooperation Charles is drunkenly wandering home one night when he sees a bright light in a field. To his delight, the cause of the light is a gorgeous alien in the form of a man with the biggest dick he's ever seen.

Everything you know is wrong When Charles Xavier was five years old, he worshiped his father. When he was eleven, he learned to loathe his abusive stepfather. When he was sixteen, he gave up any claim on the family fortune just to escape. At twenty-four, he's moved away from home into a crappy, standard-issue graduate student house, and gone through his degree program with his best friend, Moira, by his side.

He's adjusted. He knows who he is and where he comes from and what his future holds. At least, until a stranger in a bathrobe shows up in his living room, having used his shower, eaten his lunch and, oh yes, broken in uninvited. Suddenly, everything Charles knows to be true about himself may turn out to be wrong, and his future and past both may be more dangerous than he ever could have imagined.

The Associates series Being a mob boss' associate has its ups and downs. Having sex in the back of a limo on Valentine's Day is definitely one of the ups.

Paper Monsters Charles meets Erik Lehnsherr, his favorite novelist of all time at a coffee shop, but doesn't know it's him, and Erik just criticizes his own writing in front of his biggest fan.

Epoch! When Erik Lehnsherr decides to answer the sketchy job ad on the very last page of the Classifieds, meeting an insane billionaire who has no concept of reality and troubling memory loss is not at all what he expects. He also doesn't expect to meet Charles Xavier, who might actually be the love of his life if he could ever get around to admitting it to himself.

He also doesn't expect dinosaurs, but then again, who really does these days?

Sprich Mit Mir | Talk To Me When Charles meets Erik on a midnight train to London, it’s like all of his Christmases and birthdays have come at once – until Erik opens his mouth, and reveals he cannot speak a word of English.

It isn’t easy to pursue a relationship with someone you need to play Pictionary with just to chat to, but with a little help from Charles’ telepathy, the two language-barrier lovers are determined to make it work.

Cannot be Contained in Words Crime syndicate head Erik Lehnsherr travels to London on business, where he meets oxford student Charles Xavier. Their liaison spawns into a years long transatlantic affair, kept apart by Erik's work and Charles' studies, which Erik chronicles in photographs. When distance ceases to be an issue after four long years, the overlap between Charles' past and Erik's work create a whole new set of complications.

The Pleasantness of Employment It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of two lively toddlers must be in want of a babysitter. This truth is so fixed in Erik's mind that when his children mysteriously turn up fed and entertained, he doesn't question where the care comes from, so long as it is continuous, or at least he doesn't question it until the caretaker turns out to be his handsome neighbour. Sadly, his attempts at romancing said neighbour are undermined by—no, never mind, it's easier to list things that don't undermine his romancing attempts, and those are the weather and meteor showers.

One Last Kiss At The End Of The World When Raven gets mixed up in a mutant cult, Charles infiltrates the group, pretending to be a true believer in the hopes of getting her out. What surprises him is the charisma and uncanny wisdom of the cult's leader, Elisha Ammon -- the emotional power of this isolated group of mutants working to create a home together -- and his powerful connection to Ammon's right-hand man, Erik Lehnsherr. But Ammon's fear of humanity, and of the future, makes him desperate for control ... and when the bond between Charles and Erik can't be contained, Ammon's reaction proves deadly.

The who is the keeper of my soul An accident...There was an accident.

Next thing he knows, Erik is a ghost trying not to fall through the floor (or maybe through the ceiling – he can hardly keep track) of a hospital while his body lays comatose in bed. Then a doctor named Xavier is blabbering on to him about how he’s so bloody sorry that Erik saved his life and a little blond ghost of a girl is making him promise to stalk her older brother in order to protect him from a possible prophecy straight out of every cliché movie Erik has ever watched.

So, there he is, Erik fucking Lehnsherr, ghost and comatose patient to a blabbering doctor named Charles Francis Xavier, sworn to protect him from the ever-constant threat of the world (and probably himself).

The Proper Care of Actors Erik is an A-list action star who is notoriously difficult to work with, until the day he gets cast alongside Charles Xavier, rom-com darling who can charm the pants off movie audiences the world over and apparently even one Erik Lehnsherr. The paparazzi catch them out and about soon enough, and their real-life Hollywood movie romance becomes instant tabloid fodder.

Little Birds Bird AU. Erik is a lone kestrel on a mission to destroy the great golden eagle who killed his mother. Charles is an abandoned pet dove with no fear and a dream of making a place where the little birds can fly free. They don’t quite want the same thing, but together they’ll change the world. YES BIRDS

Omega Wherein the world decides to deal with mutants with utter segregation. All mutants are placed on Genosha, and all children are tested at birth for the mutant gene, and sent to Genosha if they have it, to be adopted by other mutants. Years later, Charles Xavier's parents bribe officials to keep their child, and he grows up utterly alone in a human world. But all that changes ... Not A/B/O iirc

Ghost in the Shell Out in the black of space, where the only creatures whose company you can always count on are violence and death, making a living is a wager. Erik’s crew of mismatched social misfits scrapes by, toeing the line between law and crime. Normally, they prefer to stay out of the Alliance’s way, but when it comes to defending the very freedom they fought for a decade ago, they only follow one principle: when someone tries to kill you, you kill them right back.

Anarchy In The U.K. "Good God, Erik thought. The Prince of Wales is gay."

Charles lives in the unceasing glare of the public spotlight, yet keeps his sexual orientation a closely held secret, afraid he could lose his throne and force his deeply troubled younger sister into a role that would crush her. Erik, journalist and world traveler, has been a loner most of his life; he has little patience for closet cases. But a chance meeting in Kenya brings these two opposites together and sets in motion a love affair that will challenge the British monarchy -- and their most deeply held beliefs about who they are, and who they should be.
