(Anonymous) 2015-02-08 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)That shouldn't be your major concern here, unless it's something you're using subconsciously to sabotage yourself. Maybe the thought of actually learning more about writing, practicing, committing to finish projects...maybe that scares you most of all?

That's not to say I think the OP's concerns are reasonable (I don't).

I've got over a hundred works up, and nobody has plagiarized me yet, that I know of. But they keep paying me, so *shrug*. Maybe original fic is less fun to plagiarize?

(Anonymous) 2015-02-08 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)I'm starting to think I should've made it clear in the original secret (but it didn't seem terribly relevant, and I was trying to keep it short), but I do already write fanfics. Just not for certain fandoms. Somewhat ironically, my hang-ups have only prevented me writing those fanfics which are indisputably legal to publish...
Thing is, I don't really want to write professionally. You're quite right that I don't like the idea of much of what I think it would involve, and also, I don't think I have the talent (I already wrote a bit about this upthread, which I won't repeat). I'm glad you enjoy what you do, and get paid for it as well :) but that route is not for all of us.
