And then they went on and on about how the film was going to tank and I was just thinking of how, despite the fact that it's crap, it has HUGE advance ticket sales and the books had sold over 100 million copies.

It's getting bad reviews, people are laughing at it, but it's also going to make a shit ton of money and the sequels are going to be made. The ones who don't like it as an example of badly written fanfic, purely for the id, we're just going to have to scrunch down in our seats and wait for the whole thing to blow over. Much like with Twilight.
