Nope. He tried to make his way back to civilization and failed. He left this note because he knew he was dying:

"Attention Possible Visitors. S.O.S. I need your help. I am injured, near death, and too weak to hike out. I am all alone, this is no joke. In the name of God, please remain to save me. I am out collecting berries close by and shall return this evening. Thank you, Chris McCandless. August?"

That's not a suicide note, BTW. It's a call for help. I mean it's cool you want to participate in this conversation but since you don't seem to know anything about it, maybe you shouldn't speculate about the guy's motivations, especially when your theory contradicts everything that we know about it.
