Stuff like this makes me paranoid. I've been writing again for the first time in over 10 years, and it's for a fandom that's just really kicking off, but there's not a ton of fanfic yet.

And my fic is at least mostly correctly spelled and formatted in a readable way. So I have this terror it's going to become one of these "Why is it popular it's mediocre shit?!" fics everyone whines about.

DA - don't freak out, chill bae.

Some stuff that takes off and gets tons of kudos (per views) completely deserves it. If you try your best, and you have actually edited your fic, there ain't nothing you've done wrong.

I think there is also wisdom in writing for things you know are going to be popular, to get your stuff out there, especially for experienced authors. I love to write and have written tons of stuff gen for fandoms that just aren't there, but then, no one will ever read them, because I chose to spend my efforts in the wrong places. In the long run, if you've written something people enjoy, there will always be haters, whether you deserve it or not. Just take constructive criticism with a grain of salt and ignore flamerz. :)
