Ellen Page as some sort of Harrison Ford-esque adventure hero. I WILL NEVER BACK DOWN FROM THIS IDEA

Also, Michael Shannon in some sort of "honorable man on a rampage" mystery-thriller type thing, with guns in. What I think of as the Bunta Sugawara role.

Michael Shannon is that actor I always forget about until I see him. And then I am like, "He rocks." Take Shelter was amazing.

So, you'd want to see him in a movie like Taken?

Take Shelter is so good.

Taken is kind of along the lines of what I'm thinking but much, much, much more down-to-earth and low-scale. Closer to a noir thriller than an action blockbuster. Where the emphasis is on Shannon's character and willingness to do things and desperation and intensity, not on his combat ability or badassness. That's what would be interesting to me. Get real raw to the bone.

Hrm. I can't think of a great movie like that. Like a low key version of Taken...

Your Ellen Page idea is perfect. Hopefully one day it will be made into a film. (I've heard about the live reading with her as Han Solo.)
