You know, I remember watching that scene not too long ago, the one with Elinor at Mr. Palmer's door and I felt there was something there, underneath, in their exchange. But I figured I'd been in fandom for too long at that point and was seeing giants where there were only windmills. THANK YOU FOR VALIDATING ME. I always felt there was that extra solicitous attitude for Elinor, a kind of "God I wish you were my wife" vibe.
