Wow, this kind of makes me glad that all the symphonic metal bands I listen to are either solo acts or have no public drama.

Oooh...do share!

Kamelot has barely any drama. Khan left because he was unhappy with the direction the band was taking in relation to religion, and has since become a gospel singer. His replacement (Tommy Karevik) was actually really easily accepted by the fandom (mostly because he sounds nearly identical to Khan).

So there's Apocalyptica (Finnish cellists), their cover of Nothing Else Matters is one of my favorite things ever:

And then there's Kalafina/FictionJunction, some differences in vocalists, but Yuki Kajiura is the composer for both (she is like 50 years old now and kick ass):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5049D8T1as (Kalafina)

There's also Shikata Akiko, most of her stuff is more folk symphonic than metal symphonic, but I'm going to include her anyways because I love her:

Who else... another more folk rock vs symphonic metal, but there's Blackmore's Night:

As for other one-offs/maybes:
Nier Soundtrack (everything, but Shadowlord in particular, picks up at 2:45) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IEbfDtDaUc
Chrono Cross Time's Scar - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J46RY4PU8a8

The Nier soundtrack is amazing. I only ended up knowing about it because a friend of mine wanted to Let's Play it for our group and I am so grateful.
