(Anonymous) 2015-02-15 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)Just like it's super fun to see a straight person's reaction to being called a fag, or to see the reaction of a person without an intellectual disability to being called a retard, right? (Spoiler alert: None of those things are actually super fun.)
By calling men bitches, you're insulting them for being insufficiently masculine, which just reinforces the idea that masculinity/maleness is good and femininity/femaleness is bad. That's bullshit.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-15 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)Bitch doesn't always mean insufficiently masculine. In fact, I rarely see it used that way. Bitch can be a term of affection. It can mean that a person is fussy or mean. It can be used as a shout-out to someone's fabulousness, too, instead of using the term diva.

No, I'm insulting them for being a grumpy asshole.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)I think it's usually always better to work on changing a word, either to make it more broad or less offensive, then it is to try to censor it. Censoring almost never works.

Also, you - as (quite possibly) a woman - say the term is always inherently misogynistic. I as a woman say it is not. I believe we are at an impasse.
