I can't get invested in a ship that is cheating, sorry. I heard it was getting really awful ratings anyway, so it'll probably be canceled before Ichabbie becomes a thing?

The ratings are starting to slip more and more as the show goes on - they recently lost over a million viewers, which a lot of people (IchAbbie shippers, mostly) are blaming on Katrina.

I've recently stopped watching myself, I can't stand what the show has become, and I hate all the hatred that people pile on Katrina (who was one of my favourite characters). It's also annoying because the execs initially said Ichabod and Abbie would be solely platonic... and then Tom Mison recently gave an interview where he said that Ichabod was completely in love with Abbie. It seems like they're butchering Katrina's character to force an IchAbbie endgame, and I'm done with that shit.

Are they, though? Katrina's role is getting bigger and more complex and interesting, that doesn't scream "butchering" to me.

They're trying desperately to make Katrina relevant despite the fact that the character is a mess (She's a Puritan-nurse-witch-noblewoman!) that audiences haven't warmed to for a variety of reasons and the actress has exactly one facial expression (lobotomized).

If the writers are smart, they'll cut their loses, kill her off, and get back to the supernatural historical insanity most of the audience signed on for in the first season.

I hate to advocate offing a female character, but this. She's already kind of dead anyway.

You don't have to hate advocating her death. She's white and in the way of a WOC's relationship.

It has nothing to do with race or shipping. I'm a white woman who doesn't ship Ichabod/ Abbie, and I want her gone.

Katrina is a failure as a character due to poor writing and acting. No matter how many times they've retooled her character, she continues to be the show's weak spot because the actress is terrible. The only workable solution is death/ put on a bus.

I do blame it on both Katrina and the Crane family drama on the whole. It's tiring and irritating, and it takes away from the fun romp the series was before.
