I don't really have any problem with the smut. I am a firm believer that fantasy doesn't equal reality, and that most people are able to distinguish the two.

What I find offensive is writing. It's laughably terrible, and an offense against the written word. It's bad for a fanfic, much less a best selling book. ("My inner goddess"? Really?) So yeah, I judge your taste if you like it, but not for the reasons you give.

Same. My initial reaction upon reading bits of it was not about the questionable content, but that I found the writing so awful that I could not make it past one chapter.

What really got me about the writing is the lack of adjectives. Everyone is described as being "very very attractive" and I'm not even exaggerating. There is very little explanation about why these people are so good-looking, just that they are because Not!Bella thinks so.
