That is an embarrassingly good counterpoint. I probably am too quick to dismiss problems in the scene, because I just get sick of hearing about it. Now that I think about it when it's not super late at night, my comment looks flippant.

There's a huge difference between bdsm and vampirism, in that most people don't believe vampirism exists, and bdsm does. And abuse in the scene is so quickly dismissed in a "we're not all like that" way, which makes it easier for abusers to get away with it, which is one of the big reasons I avoid the scene. It should be about fun sex, not the constant 'fight/ignore abuse' cycle.

So, thank you. I need a jolt to my priorities, it seems.
