ayrt

If you enjoy bad writing, you don't need to read anymore. You and your ilk have been fueling the dumbing down of the written word the last few years with your worthless enthusiasm for basic and uninspired shit writing. You should be embarrassed by the whole of your secret.

Oh please, people have been publishing cheap, schlocky fiction (or telling lurid, shitty stories) that mass audiences have lapped up almost since the dawn of print.

Look at penny dreadfuls in the Victorian era. Look at Samuel Richardson's Pamela, a 1740s novel about a young woman taken in by a hot, wealthy as fuck gentleman who rules her life and is an abusive dickface until he finally has a change of heart and wifes her. It was popular as hell and also had moral crusaders crying for the author's blood. Fun fact, Pamela inspired the Marquis de Sade's Justine, which was considered absolute horse shit filth at the time.

Sweet Christ, I think FSOG is a piece of garbage, but there's always been garbage lit throughout history. Don't act like literature has somehow been in some sort of sweeping Golden Age of Rainbow Unicorn Farts until Twilight and FSOG came on the scene.
