Most folks will have had to care for a dying relative by that point, or a family friend. Or just been present at an incident where someone has died.

that's...not really true. I know some people who have done that, but not many. and even if a lot of people have cared for a dying relative at some point, not all of those same people would actually be there as that relative dies. a lot of people end up passing away in their sleep without anyone really being around
