I really do sympathize with you.

At the same time, if the comic was changed to become more accurate to your experience, it would be less accurate, or at least less inspirational and cathartic, for other people.

I think it's a situation where it's impossible for something to be perfect, unfortunately. Which does just suck for you I think.
