I have Muslim friends who have been really excited about this comic! They are, *gasp*, "normal" folks who like geeky stuff, as well as a love for their own faith. I'm glad that this character exists for them, as someone to identify with - and also as a character to show people that Muslim girls are not all brainwashed self-hating obedient baby makers.

One of the Muslim women I know knew how to belly dance, had a Ph.D, and was working on a book. I want to say the other was working on her Master's. In my experience, geeks lean towards higher education. We need to do right by our fellow geeks and not ignore them.
