I'm going to add Galadriel and Gandalf. Galadriel in the book is fine but her portrayal in the movie suffers from the same thing "Dis" does.

And I've always disliked Gandalf (and Dumbledore) for being a manipulative asshole. In the book, at least he's not human and such. I hate how fandom just loves portraying him as this massive troll (but it being awesome somehow). He shows up in all these fics and is twinkling knowingly in the background. I was happy how Thranduil treated him in the movie actually.
