Re: Who here has read/watched Fifty Shades of Grey?

I not only read the first fifteen chapters of that damn thing, I MSTed them too. I even have a funny story as to WHY!

See, I'm a recovering starver. When my eating disorder was at its worst, I discovered that during dinner time, if I put 50 Shades in front of my face and worked on my MST, I'd eat sorta automatically. Next thing I'd know, the food was gone, safe in my belly, and I didn't have to worry for another few hours. Oh, and I'd have some snarky lines of text. So I am perversely grateful for 50 Shades for being my anti-ED.

That said, once I got it more under control, I couldn't bear the story anymore. I COULDN'T MAKE IT FUNNY. The more I read it, the dirtier and sadder I felt, and that's no way to enjoy a book. Soon even my own determination wasn't enough, and I had to quit.

BUT I TRIED GODDAMMIT. And I got farther than I ever did in Twilight!
