I've been meaning to make a secret almost identical to this one for ages, but was too lazy. So thanks OP for saving me the effort. :D

As long as the acting is good, I can generally suspend my belief while watching the thing. But when it comes to participating in fandom, thinking about it in depth, with just words on the screen for reading/wrinting fanfic - all I'm picturing is the actors, and it totally throws me off. It's why nearly all my fandoms are for animated series - which is something I often feel kind of weird about since I'm nearly 40... -_-;

I'm the same way. When I'm watching the movie/TV show I can see the actor as the character, but if I was to try to read fanfic or whatever, I can only see the actor.

My fandoms are mainly for video games.
