FASHION
I've started visiting style.com and have watched some documentaries, like The September Issue (Anna Wintour of Vogue) and have even started watching McQueen and I (Alexander McQueen) on Youtube. I picked up 4 different magazines too! Fashion, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Porter. I've read through Fashion, which was fun, and Vogue, which I'll definitely be subscribing to. Haven't gone through Porter Magazine yet, and have just started reading Harper's Bazaar.
I think I'm on the right track! But I really want to do as much research as I can on this. I'm actually genuinely passionate about fashion, it's so much fun, and I'll never take it seriously in the way someone in the business would, naturally. So it will always be fun.
Any recs? Like books, docs, interviews, what's your favourite magazine?, etc.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-22 01:10 am (UTC)(link)Films/docs: The Eye Has To Travel (Diana Vreeland) and Mademoiselle C (Carine Roitfeld) are worth looking into.
I get the majority of my fashion ideas and inspiration from blogs, Tumblr and Pinterest. A lot of the ones I follow are personal style blogs so may not be exactly what you're looking for, but just in case, some I like are Fashion Me Now, Le Fashion, Studded Hearts, Camille Over the Rainbow, Look de Pernille, Style by Kling, Amlul and Creators of Desire. I also like looking at Visual Optimism and Glossy Newsstand for editorials, and the forums at The Fashion Spot are fascinating to read/look through (although extremely bitchy, but then that's fashion!)
Have fun!
Re: FASHION
(Anonymous) 2015-02-22 01:34 am (UTC)(link)I personally like to use fashion source books from the 1940s/whatever year in fashion I'm interested in, if you're into the "older" trends (you'll notice that trends just recycle anyway, and whatever you're into will probably be what's in style a year or two from now).
But yeah, fashion source books, watching runway shows, viewing collections online, and checking out magazines. See if there are any museums that might have collections on fashion (if you're lucky).
Enjoy the beauty of clothes and style!
