Riddles!
(Anonymous) 2015-02-21 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)Re: Riddles!
What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps?
(As an aside, I learned this from Van Von Hunter. A bridge troll asks it of Hunter and his companions, and Hunter "takes a stab at it." With his sword.)

(Anonymous) 2015-02-22 12:08 am (UTC)(link)more corrupt than Satan,
The poor have it but the rich need it,
and when you drink it you die.

How can this be?

Re: Riddles!
I am a stain,
I am a sound,
I am a worm rarely seen on the ground.
I am a slang term that's really quite bland.
What am I? I place myself into your hand.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-22 04:30 am (UTC)(link)Re: Riddles!
(Anonymous) 2015-02-22 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)My second’s in night but isn’t in day;
My third is in dinner but isn’t in sup;
My fourth is in chalice but isn’t in cup.
My whole is a rhythm, a heartbeat, a breath,
Before pool, after high, and knowing no death.
The riddle itself is mine, but the riddle template I stole from the Dragonology Handbook. It's a pretty easy one to fill if you can rhyme words:
"My first [letter] is in ____ but isn't in _____(a),
"My second's in _____, but isn't in _____(a),
"My third is in _____, but not in _____(b),
My fourth is in _____, but isn't in _____(b),
etc, etc, until the word has been spelled out.
"My whole is [insert rhyming description here; if the word has an even number of letters, this should be two lines; if odd, one, to rhyme with the second-last line]."
Here's another one:
My first is in wet but isn’t in dry;
My second’s in rain but isn’t in sky;
My third is in valley but isn’t in flood;
My fourth is in earth, but isn’t in mud.
My whole is a cold salty splash in the face;
You’ll find me where wind, sand, and water embrace.
