Apparently, there's a punishment in the military known as the "buttstroke."

It's not what you think, but HOMOEROTICISM AWAY at the name.

....I'm actually a bit afraid to look this up (for fear of getting something really porny). What is it?

It's hitting someone with the buttstock of the rifle. VERY common offensive move that is commonly used to discipline soldiers and new recruits (besides its obvious applications in actual fighting).
