Re: Petty reasons for giving up on or not trying out a show, book, movie, or whatever

For me it depends on if the creator is defended. I feel icky about watching Roman Polanski movies because of all the people who defend him so it feels like an ongoing conversation and I don't want to feel like I'm supporting him in any way, but I also happen to be reading a book by Anne McCaffrey right now despite her infamy and it doesn't feel the same to me because her statements are widely condemned and that makes it easier for me to separate the work from the author.
