Re: Exercise advice

Swimming is a great start, and I'd try walking on the treadmill, too (a bit brisk walk, if you can). Then, when you feel more comfortable, speed the treadmill up to a jog for shorter bursts (even just a minute), then go back to walking. You can slowly build yourself up without going too fast. Yoga isn't going to make you lose weight, but it can help your flexibility, which might reduce the number of injuries you get.

Also, how about cycling? Or an elliptical? I think those are supposed to be easier on the joints than a treadmill, and you can still go at whatever pace is comfortable for you.

This is obvious, but look at your diet, too. I don't think you'll see results by walking/swimming alone if you eat a lot of junk.

Thanks, anon! Will try out your walking/jogging idea. Yeah, I've found yoga completely useless at shifting weight in the past. I'm sticking with it thought to try and reduce my injury proneness.

I don't eat any junk currently (oh man I miss cake), I cut it all out when I became unable to exercise. Unfortunately, it's not prevented my weight gain as I've had to keep up my calories as I've been healing a lot and fighting infection. :/

Much appreciated.
