Okay, but look at Scarlett Johansson. She's been able to play anything from a nanny, to an alien, to a maid, to a nerd, to a sexy spy... and she's believe in all those roles

There's no reason to believe's acting abilities are any worse than Scarlett. And she can dye her hair, for fuck's sake.

But Scarlett Johansson's acting abilities are really unimpressive. Like, flat affect and identical intonation all the time. Not the best example.

Yeah, she has clearly found the "emotionless sexy badass" typecast to be very lucrative, but I would love to see her pick some roles that display some range. I was actually really impressed with her in the beginning of Lucy when she was scared out of her mind.

She was good in Lucy. Too bad the movie was awful.

Which is ironic, 'cause I've been amused at how she keeps picking non-human roles that limit her emotional range. I'll have to see Her soon, though.
