Okay this is quite specific but: in movies or TV, I hate it when characters are shown as kids and then as adults, and are roughly the same age as kids, but are played by actors with a significant age gap when they're adults.

Not a great example because it's hardly a movie in which accuracy matters but... in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, the title characters look the same age as children, but the adult versions are played by Gemma Arterton who's 29, and Jeremy Renner who's 44. 15 year gap!! Of course it's always the guy who gets to be played by a much older actor.

Also Elysium. If anything, Frey looks older than Max when they're kids. But grown up, Frey is played by a 31 y/o actress, Max by a 44 y/o actor.

Thanks for the example, I didn't understand at first. I can understand that, though it annoys me more when the kid actor looks too different from the adult version.

I can suspend my disbelief sometimes, but when they have completely different eye colours or something it annoys me to no end.
