I saw her speak at my school recently and she was amazing, but... nothing about her says "Doctor material."

I dislike it when people point to a person from an oppressed group of people and go "this person needs to play [insert traditionally white cishet role here]!!" without any concern for the person's actual suitability for the part. To me that says you're only seeing the individual's race/gender/sexuality and not their personality, abilities, talent, and just generally who they actually are as a person. It's tokenism.

More representation is absolutely necessary, but there are probably other POC, trans folk, etc. who would actually be suited to this part if given the chance, not just the only one you can think of off the top of your head.
