[background picture of CD track listings, with two songs highlighted: 'Let It Go' (Frozen), and 'When She Loved Me' (Toy Story 2)]

A relative gave us this CD set of Disney songs for Christmas, purely so the kids could listen to this ['Let It Go'] as much as they like.

...Turned out to be the worst Christmas present ever!!!

I've heard the song at least twenty times a week since then. Luckily I have a high tolerance for hearing songs on repeat, and I don't dislike this one per se; however...

Even after approximately the 376th rendition, it still reduces me to tears. EVERY. DAMNED. TIME.

So far only my kids have witnessed these ongoing mini meltdowns, but I'm not sure how much longer I can get away with excusing myself or hiding my face whenever I hear it being played in public.

(Incidentally, it was bleakly impressive to find an even more tear-jerking song on the second CD! At least this one ['When She Loved Me'] is actually supposed to be sad...)

"Grown up" songs never have this sort of effect on me, no matter how depressing they may be.
