Re: Am I the only one here who believes biromantic is a thing that exists?

I mean, I love my friends too, but I wouldn't want to make out with them or spend my whole life with them or whatever. But different people draw the line different places, I guess.

I don't *want* to make out with my friends but I would feel physically comfortable to do so with some, if that makes sense. And I could live with some of them. Alternatively, being in love to me doesn't necessarily mean I want to spend my whole life with them. And this is where it gets murky.

Exactly. I felt comfortable enough to experiment with a couple of very close friends before.

I know people who want to stay spend their lives with their platonic best friend, even instead of getting married.

Hey, like I said, different people draw the line different places.

Friends with benefits exist.

Yes they do.

e: Okay, that was snarky. But the existence of something called "friends with benefits" only strengthens the idea that there's a difference between friendship and romance, doesn't it? Otherwise they'd just be called boyfriends/girlfriends.

DA

I totally agree with you. The fact that friends with benefits are a thing shows there's a difference because friendship and romance because like you said, if there wasn't, all friends with benefits would just be in a romantic relationship. But I think for some of these people, it's an "all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares" type of thing. Which is all well and good if that's how it works for them...the issue for me is them telling other people that what they experience/feel is wrong or not valid.
