(Anonymous) 2015-02-27 11:55 am (UTC)(link)Yes, theoretically I am all for more diversity but personally my heart is not very moved by the whole business.
"I don't care" for me means I do not get emotionally worked up about it. My heart does not clench, I do not cry, I will not rejoice. I support more diversity as an ideal, but I do not "care" about it.

Would you care if you could get represented by caring?
Edit: You're also seem to be saying that you don't care about other people's representation, and you and I both know that's not neutral right? Although I'm less sanguine about that type of "do I got mine?" prioritization, I'm not necessarily going to hate on minorities for it.
Second Edit: But frankly, if you're the "majority" in any oppression, and most of us are in something, then you know very well you benefit from not "caring" about others. Also not neutral.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-27 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)There's no point in getting worked up about my own representation because it won't happen, and I don't really get worked up over everybody else's because I mean, why should I become emotionally invested in whether or not some minority on the other side of the world appears in some media made by people in another country? It's so far from my life and my reality that it's hard for me to become emotionally invested in it.
In general I support diversity in media, I'm glad when it happens.
But it's difficult for me to really care.
