DA-- yes, like in season 1, when he was about to torture Moran, and afterward Gregson's rage was spectacular to behold? I loved Gregson for saying, "No, NO, we DO NOT do these things," and suspending him. Holmes needs clear boundaries and consequences, and Gregson provides them.

I confess I wondered, at the end of S2, how the show would deal with Holmes leaving. I was surprised that it went directly to Holmes coming *back* and being confronted with the consequences of letting everyone down, but of course it did. I love that Holmes needs everyone else more than they need him--and he knows it--but he's still important enough to them to let him earn the chance to fix things.

There are a lot of good people on this show, I guess is what I'm saying. I *like* that. A *lot*.
