Maybe this is fucking tasteless, I don't know, but I figure enough time has passed for bitter opinions to bubble to the top yeah?

Now that Monty Oum is dead, I'm really bitter that RWBY sucks. It's the biggest thing to his name and it's such a poor representation of his talent and character. I'm really butthurt that two bad writers were put in charge of such a potentially great project (and so thoroughly fucked it up) just because they were his friends. I know there is no malice to be found here, or even laziness, just pure incompetence, but damn. I figure Monty had a perfect project in him somewhere, but we'll never know what is was now.

This is probably the only fandom secret I've ever seriously considered making, because it's awful, but fuck it.

I miss Monty a lot, and I agree with pretty much everything you've written. Plot-wise, it's just... not very good. I'm kind of dreading the production of another season* with just Miles and Kerry in charge. There was a lot of room for improvement, and I hoped some things would change between the second & third season but now I'm not holding my breath.

*IDK for sure if there will be a season three, I'm just assuming

THAT'S ANOTHER THING THAT SUCKS if RWBY improves Monty won't be around to see it. Everything about this is awful.

For a while I wondered how Monty could just let Miles and Kerry do such dicey work but then I heard him make a speech about how it's important to DO things even when you know they won't be perfect, just working endlessly is more important than stopping to edit yourself, which can be sacrificed on the altar of improving your skills. It actually made me reconsider the way I see my own work and art. But he's gone so... now what. I guess we'll never get to see the grand result of his improvement? Well fuck.

I sound like such a shitheel but this whole things makes me so mad.

I tried watching that as it had an interesting concept. The animation alone just sent to the back button.
