Re: Style advice thread
All of the above. I have weird feet. Mots of the time I get friction from non-sneakers either at the sides of my feet or the heels. And anything with a heel hurts my feat if I wear them for more than a few hours, but flats don't stay on my feet. And I can't wear sandles unless they are flip flops because straps across the top dig into my feet and cut them.
The most frequent problem, other than general foot pain, I have with dress shoes is that they cut into the back of my foot and sometimes my little toe as well.
I have the misfortune of having both big and wide feet that are also shaped a bit funny. Plus high arches.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-28 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)Do your feet swell up when you're on your feet for a long time? It sounds as if that could be part of the problem. If so, then the first thing I'd suggest is always walking for an hour or so before trying on new shoes in shops.
As for work, could you get away with a smartish pair of espadrilles? They're fabric, and so shouldn't pinch in the same way as leather, plus there should be more give in them.
There are also sites online that can advise you on how to stretch your shoes so they don't rub. I'd be wary of continuing to wear shoes that hurt your feet though, you don't want to risk causing yourself an injury.
Sorry I can't be more help!
Re: Style advice thread
The more fancy types also have arch support.
Again, not really elegance, but I adore hiking sandals. They're the only type of shoe that *never* gave me blisters.
Sadly I can't really rec a company because the only name I remember is Source, which is Israeli and idk if you can get those in your parts, but there are plenty of good companies.
