It's RUSSIA.

The American people ARE sick of war, yes, but we wouldn't hesitate to defend an ally from Russia.

ESPECIALLY the UK.

Oh I agree.

The US public isn't in any mood to start anything with Russia.

I'm just saying, if they start something...we'll finish it.

After the horrible wars in the Middle-East (pre-emptively attacking a poor, technologically limited nation), going after Russia to defend one of our allies would be a no-brainer for a lot of Americans.
