48. Reason I didn't buy Haruhi on DVD? I like it so much better in broadcast order, and to get the series in that format you have to buy the ludicrously overpriced "special edition" with all the extra crap in it. So yeah, fansubbing did kill my potential purchase of Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya...but not on account of "well I don't need to buy it because I have it on my computer." It would've been the same for me if it was aired here in broadcast order and they pulled the same shit with the special edition DVDs. I don't need a headband and four soundtracks guys. Really.

Holland and Talho are win. Hell, Holland is infinite win. 'Cuz he's not a perfect role model, he's an ASS and I love him for it 8)

I never used to cry when I was little and watching that movie, but when I saw it again recently- I almost starting to sob on that part.

I proudly bought the special editions for the broadcast order. The cosplay stuff, the CDs, the iron-ons? They were extra fluff, but they were GREAT extra fluff - icing and value for your money. And Bandai was kinda forced to put out the regular DVDs in chronological order, because the Japanese DVDs were, even though in Japan, Haruhi was actually aired on TV in the first place, which would still be a very risky gamble here. There had to be SOME way to get people to watch broadcast order.
