X is in love with Y, but Y canonically beats X. I would go so far as to say that Y does not deserve X.

...no, that's not about "deserving," that's about Y being bad for X. There's a difference :p

Or X has been devoted to Y for all their of life, literally, since they knew what the concept of devotion was, and would treat Y well in the future.

But if Y doesn't love X back, then X doesn't "deserve" Y, because a person is not a fucking prize to be won.

Y is bad for X, from X's side.
Y does not deserve X, from Y's side. Remember, relationships have two sides to them, not just one.

Think of it in the form of dialogue: "Oh heck no girlfriend, Y is so bad for you! Y doesn't deserve you at all!"

And people should get absolutely no recognition for the good things they've done? It's not about being a "prize", never has been, and there's no need for profanity by the way, it's about getting recognition. Saying that X deserves Y implies that X has given sufficient reason to be loved by Y. At no point does it say or imply that Y has to love X. Just that X has made themselves worthy and has maybe even gone above and beyond.

You keep using the word 'deserve'. I don't think it means what you think it means.
