I'm always endlessly pleased when my friends compare our relationships to the relationships between my brOTPs. I guess it's not because I've ever valued fictional friendships more, exactly (I haven't done), but because I have such a clear perspective on fictional relationships. I always know how strong they are and how long they last. Whereas with my own friendships, I often dread that I'll be ditched one day, or that the friendship might prove to be weaker and/or less satisfying than we initially perceived. These comparisons are like an implicit promise that ours is a strong and long-lasting sort of relationship.

I don't think it's uncommon, OP. Maybe not for your exact reasons, but it is something people feel ^_^ And hey, congratulations on being in love!

lol, that's cute and kind of pathetic at the same time. I guess it makes sense though.

lol I think this is adorable and I'm a little bit jealous. I hope I can find a guy who like fandom and isn't afraid to talk about it with me.
nightscale: Starbolt (Marvel: Black Widow)

I think it's cute, OP. I'm glad you found someone you care for (and who can relate to your interest in fandom).

I'd be excited, too. Then worried, probably, depending on the ship.

Please excuse me, Anon.

So, like, does your bf have any siblings just like him or...?

Text: I get really unreasonably excited when my boyfriend compares our relationship to fictional ones.

I know it's silly, but I've spent such a long time having more interest in ships than other people.

NOw that I'm in love, that feels like the highest of compliments.

I'm embarrassed by how much it affects me.

Real talk time: if my SO called me the Widow to his Winter I'd kiss him on the face. Like, a lot.

But this secret is cute. So very cute.

I'd be hyped too, OP.

Eh, I'd actually be a little worried if my SO was referring to our relationship in comparison to fictional ones. It's kind of dangerous to get so invested in a ship like that where it affects your real life relationships.
