:'( I remember when DeForest Kelley died; it was the first time I really had the sense that an era was beginning to close, and it's only been heightened now that James Doohan and Leonard Nimoy are gone too.

Also, secondarily, the actors who played Kang, Kor and Koloth are all dead now too. :(

I'm always endlessly pleased when my friends compare our relationships to the relationships between my brOTPs. I guess it's not because I've ever valued fictional friendships more, exactly (I haven't done), but because I have such a clear perspective on fictional relationships. I always know how strong they are and how long they last. Whereas with my own friendships, I often dread that I'll be ditched one day, or that the friendship might prove to be weaker and/or less satisfying than we initially perceived. These comparisons are like an implicit promise that ours is a strong and long-lasting sort of relationship.

I don't think it's uncommon, OP. Maybe not for your exact reasons, but it is something people feel ^_^ And hey, congratulations on being in love!

Kingdom Hearts has a convoluted plot and characters with a thousand zippers, and it's still a better Disney worlds meet story than Once. At least there's no rape/torture porn characters/crappy romance subplots.

I don't understand this secret. You don't think you can call yourself a horror fan because horror movies scare you? But that's their job.

I adore horror movies. I eat them with a spoon and I still get scared by plenty of them. In fact, I am happy when they do because it reminds me that as much horror as I watch, there is still something new that can scare me. I am not that jaded.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I really, really dislike The Dark Knight

Heath Ledger does a good job, but the Joker is just Johan Liebert-lite.

It's incredibly manipulative and I hate how conservative its message is -- it's basically designed to pander to Republicans, especially that ending.
